Board of Directors

The current membership of NETCO's Board of Directors is as follows:

Engr. Isyaku Dandume Abdullahi
Managing Director

Engr. Isyaku Dandume Abdullahi was born on January 5, 1955 at Dandume, Katsina State. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in 1979 and was awarded Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering. He started his working career with Nigerian Agip Oil Company as Corrosion Engineer between 1979 and 1980.

Engr. Abdullahi joined the services of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation as FCCU Technologist and was posted to Kaduna Refining and Petroleum Company, Kaduna in 1980. Between 1983 and 1989, he had held various positions as Senior Operator, Chief Operator, Assistant Project Engineer, Project Leader Demin. Train Expansion, Process Engineer and became the Acting Head Process Engineering Section in 1988. Engr. Abdullahi Dandume was redeployed in 1990 to NLNG Base Project as Project Engineer in Technip Office Paris to monitor progress of PS Contractor to achieve the execution of re-imbursable PS Contract within agreed schedule and cost. Between 1990 and 1996, he participated in the NLNG Base Project as Project / Office Engineer and Assistant Cost Control / Contract Engineer responsible for compliance with NLNG project requirement and process, follow up and control of cost for all capital projects

Between 1996 and 2001, he actively participated in the NLNG Base Project Detailed Engineering, NLNG Expansion Project and Train 3 Detailed Engineering in MW Kellogg Office, London

In 2001, Engr. Abdullahi was redeployed to SHELL Office in The Hague on the NLNG Plus and Train 6 Studies as Process Engineer to provide technical input for the Gas supply agreement, collate and prepare a Gas Data Book on the project. In 2002, he was appointed the acting Commissioning Manager / Senior Process Engineer on the NLNG Expansion Commission in Bonny Island

Engr. Abdullahi was promoted Manager ETSD in Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemicals Company in 2004. In 2007, he was redeployed to Corporate Headquarters as the General Manager TSD and in 2009 he was appointed the Executive Director Operations KRPC, Kaduna. He was on this position until 2011 when he was appointed the Executive Director Operations, NETCO, a position he held before recently being promoted NETCO’s Managing Director. Engr. Abdullahi has attended several local and overseas Management courses. His hobbies include reading, traveling and farming. He is happily married with children.

Engr. UGBOR Dominic Nwechi
Executive Director Operations

Engr. Ugbor Dominic Nwechi is from Enugu State. His primary education was in St. Patrick’s Catholic School, Zaria, after which he proceeded to Eastern Nigeria for his Secondary and University education. He graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1981, where he was awarded Bachelor of Engineering degree (Second Class Honours) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In September 1981, he was posted to Ogun State for the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) scheme, where he was deployed to the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), for his primary assignment. Before joining the NNPC for the NYSC scheme, Engr. Ugbor had, in his final year in the University been offered appointment by the UAC as a Trainee Engineer, but having distinguished himself during his primary assignment, opted to accept the offer to join the services of the NNPC in 1982 as Engineer II.

The new Executive Director, Operations then started his working career in the Operations and Maintenance Division of the PPMC, Mosimi, Ogun State in October 1982. He was a Headquarter Maintenance Engineer between 1982 and 1984, involved in carrying out brownfield modifications and major maintenance of depot, pipeline and pump-station facilities nation-wide. He rose to become an Assistant Chief Engineer, and the Area Electrical Engineer with the full responsibility for the planning, co-ordination and implementation of maintenance activities in various depots, pipelines and pump-station facilities under system 2B (i.e. Mosimi, Ibadan, Atlascove, Satellite Ejigbo, Ilorin and Ore), between 1984 and 1991.

Engr. Ugbor, as Assistant Chief Engineer, was seconded to the National Engineering & Technical Company (NETCO) Ltd in April 1991, where he employed his previous field experience and the six (6) months on-the-job training in Bechtel offices in London to fully engage as a Design Electrical Engineer. Since joining NETCO about twenty-one (21) years ago, he has obtained experiences in facility engineering design and project management. He was Head of the Instrumentation & Controls Engineering team from 1993 to 1999, and was Lead Engineer on various projects, especially one of the largest engineering projects NETCO ever executed, the Escravos Gas Project Phase 1. He has been involved in proposals preparation and multi-disciplinary engineering projects execution locally and in the home offices of multinational engineering companies, such as Bechtel Inc., London and the USA, MW Kellogg offices, London; Saipem, Paris.

He was Project Manager on several projects; key among them are the Erha FPSO EPC 1 Project, Olokola LNG Project, NLNG Train 6, and the KRPC 7TH Turnaround Maintenance Project, where he led a team of engineers to carry out the prequalification, tender evaluation and selection of the main Contractor for the 7th TAM. He was promoted Deputy Manager, Project Management in 2005; and subsequently managed multi-disciplinary engineering projects. He is practically familiar with various engineering analysis and drafting software, cutting across all the engineering disciplines. Both as Discipline Engineer and Project Manager, Engr. Ugbor has, on behalf of NETCO executed projects for virtually all the IOCs in Nigeria, especially Chevron, Shell, Mobil, and Total.

Engr. Ugbor was promoted Manager Engineering in 2009 and was responsible for the management of all the engineering disciplines, preparation and reviews of technical proposals, involved in negotiation of contracts, ensures human capacity development through implementation of training for engineers, identification of personnel skills gap, and ensuring quality deliverables on projects, among others. In November 2012, Engr. Ugbor was appointed to his current position, Executive Director, Operations.

Engr. Ugbor has attended many local and overseas technical and management courses. He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria and the Instrument Society of America.Engr. His hobby includes gymming, lawn tennis and reading. He is happily married with children.

Mrs. Jane Ebong
Executive Director Services

Mrs. Jane Ebong started her working career with the Federal Ministry of External Affairs. From January 1971 to September 1971, she worked in this Ministry as the Clerical Officer to the Honourable Minister of External Affairs. In 1978 she graduated from the University of Ife and served her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Ogun State Government between 1978 and 1979 as Protocol Officer attached to the Governor’s Office. She was also entrusted with the schedule of Officer-in-Charge of Allocation of Quarters in the then fledgling Ogun State.

She is one of the thirteen recipients of the Ogun State NYSC Merit Award in 1979.On October 3rd 1979, Mrs Ebong was employed by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as Public Affairs Officer I. She has since then steadily risen through the ranks and also handled very strategic positions and duties.

In 2001, she was promoted Deputy Manager and transferred to National Engineering and Technical Company Limited (NETCO), a subsidiary of NNPC as Head Public Affairs Department. While in NETCO, she coordinated the internal and external relations activities of the company.

In 2004, she was transferred to NNPC Corporate Headquarters Abuja as Manager, Government Relations. In her capacity as the interface between the Corporation and Government Agencies as well as the Lawmakers, she helped to smoothen and bridge the relationship between NNPC and these groups. She coordinated the passing of the West African Gas Pipeline bill by the National Assembly, thereby assisting to facilitate the timely signing of the FID by participating member countries namely Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic and NigeriaDue to her capacity for hard work and resourcefulness.

Mrs. Ebong was appointed a full Manager in January 2005. In 2006 she was redeployed to NETCO as Manager, Public Affairs Department where she was responsible for ensuring sustainability of Quality Management System (QMS), planning and execution of approved community activities, coordination of publicity in print and electronic media, coordination of publication of the quarterly “NETCO News” as well as provision of consular and protocol services for entitled staff, Management and NETCO clients. She was functioning in this capacity when the President and Commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan appointed her as the first female Executive Director Services, NETCO with effect from January 4, 2012.

She has attended local and overseas managerial courses. She is a senior member of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), African Public Relations Association (APRA) and Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM). She is active in several philanthropic organisations. She is a woman of many parts. A polyglot who speaks a minimum of five foreign and local languages. Some of her key contributions to NNPC include:

Member of the 3-man Public Affairs team at the NNPC Comercialisation, Reorganisation and Capitalisation (CRC) Workshop that handled the commercialisation and subsidiarisation of NNPC with Arthur Anderson as consultant.
Special Area Manager (PPMC), Mosimi: a responsibility which enabled her contribute to the disappearance of queues at Nigerian petrol stations in 1999 and beyond
Special member of the Nwagbara-ll Area Manager (PPMC), Warri – back-to- back with the Special assignment at Mosimi
Med committee that drafted NNPC’s first Mission statement.
Public Affairs Department’s representative in the NNPC’s ‘’Job Analysis and Job Description’’ exercise
The production of the first draft Community Relations Policy for NNPC.
The inclusion of Public Affairs Department in the list of Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) quality auditees in NETCO

Outside NNPC, Mrs. Ebong has served Nigeria and humanity in various capacities including:
