NETCO-JUBOB COMPLETE FRONT END ENGINEERING DESIGN
(FEED) FOR MODULARIZED OIL AND GAS PROCESSING FACILITIES AT ABURA

The Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) intends to construct a fully owned facility in Abura fields which is capable of handling oil, condensate and gas from existing and future wells and nearby fields such as Owopele N/E, Isioka and Abura S/E. The proposed concept is to have Modularized Crude Oil and Gas processing Facilities at proposed location for the Abura Facilities.
 
With the current production rate of about 10,000 barrel per day from the Abura field through SPDC flowstation at Utorogu and the planned new wells in OML 065, an estimated Modularized Flow station Capacity of 15,000BOPD is being proposed. A production forecast of 30,000BOPD is being estimated by 2016, from OML 065. The Processed Crude is to be exported through SPDC Utorogu Delivery Export Pipeline.
The Associated Gas will be dehydrated and compressed to the required specifications into SPDC Facilities at Utorogu. 
 
Abura field which is currently producing 10,000 BOPD into SPDC Utorogu Flow station, which is about 15km away has no processing facilities. The production is from ten (10) out of the fourteen (14) existing strings.
 
The following facilities will be required:
·                     Modularized Flow station to be installed at Abura;
·                     Gas Handling Facility (GHF) to be installed at Abura for the Gas treatment and export. 
·                     Hot Oil system · Export Pipelines for the Processed Oil and Gas.
 
There is future plan to increase the field output by year 2016 to 30,000 barrel per day by installation of additional facilities with the same capacity as above.
 
Pipeline is expected to cross one (1) major river and swampy areas and l shall be designed to avoid hydrate format i o n a n d c o n d e n s a te accumulation.
The proposed facility is to occupy land size of 300m by 400m.
NPDC plans to implement the optimization study carried out on Abura field by 2010 with a production forecast of 15,000 BOPD.
By 2015, NPDC also plans to produce Owopele N/E, Isoka and Abura S/E with a production forecast of
additional 15,000 BOPD. It means that by 2016, NPDC will be producing 30,000 BOPD from OML 065.

Gas.
The expected feedstock to flowstation will come from the wells at A b u r a (existing and future wells) and the liquid from the GHF.   The GHF will take produced gas from the flowstation and from the future NAG wells at Isioka.
 
The scope for the FEED included the following:
·                     E P C I o f a m o d u l a r i ze d Oil/Condensate processing plant, capacity=15,000 BOPD;
·                     EPCI of a Modularized gas GHF, capacity = 15,000mmscf;
·                     Determination of appropriate Oil and Gas Tie-In points to SPDC Forcados Truck line, ELPS and NGC facility at Utorogu;
·                     Prepare an EPCI schedule
 
·                     Prepare cost estimate to execute the EPCI of the Abura processing facilities.
 
The kick off meeting was held in NPDC, Benin City office on Wednesday June 9, 2010 and the front end engineering design started with process engineering in NETCO-JUBOB office in Benin City on Monday June 14, 2010. The expected date of FEED completion is Friday September 24, 2010. NETCOJUBOB requested for three weeks extension, but NPDC approves two weeks, which ended on October 10, 2010.
 
Three design reviews were carried out during the execution of the job. The reviews were to ensure and guaranty high quality of engineering deliverables and conformance to NPDC project objective.
