Who We Are

National Engineering & Technical Company Limited (NETCO) is Nigeria's 1st National Engineering Comapany and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

NETCO was established in December 1988 as a joint venture (JV) between Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and American Bechtel, Inc., a world-renowned engineering company. NNPC owned 60% shareholding while Bechtel owned 40% of NETCO. The main objective of establishing NETCO was to fulfill NNPC's strategic vision of developing in-country oil & gas engineering capability.

The joint venture lasted until December 1996 when Bechtel exercised its options under the JV agreement and withdrew. NNPC took necessary steps to purchase Bechtel's shares thereby making NETCO a wholly-owned subsidiary with effect from 1st of May 1997.

NETCO is working towards providing an efficient and reliable engieering base for the NNPC Group and the entire oil and gas industry. Its services however, extend to the rest of the economy.
